The Best Sumo sweets:Ryogoku Kokugido
Hey, it’s Sumodog! 🐶
When you think of Ryogoku, sumo wrestling immediately comes to mind. And when it comes to sumo-themed souvenirs, this one is a must-try!
Just a 1-minute walk from Ryogoku Station (West Exit), you’ll find Ryogoku Kokugido, a shop famous for its delicious sumo-themed treats.

🍪 Dohyo Sablé

A crispy cookie sandwich filled with smooth white chocolate. The cookie dough is mixed with tiny rice cracker bits, adding an extra crunch. It’s perfect with a cup of coffee! ☕

Mmm…delicious! This is my favorite.

There is different sizes—single piece, packs of 5, 15, and even 20! With a long shelf life(2 months), it’s an ideal souvenir to take home.
But what does “Dohyo” mean? 🤔
The dohyo (土俵) is the raised clay ring where sumo matches take place. It’s considered sacred in sumo culture, making this cookie a unique souvenir for sumo fans!
🍘 Anko Arare

A delicious combination of crispy rice crackers and sweet red bean paste. The balance of sweet and salty flavors makes it an addictive snack.

Both treats have a long shelf life, making them great souvenirs to bring home! 🏘️
🪀Traditional Japanese Toys & Cute Sumo Goods!
Inside the store, you’ll find nostalgic Japanese toys like spinning tops (koma) and kaleidoscopes, along with adorable sumo-themed souvenirs!
